The House of Foxy

Named the 'Stanwyk' in homage to 1940s film star Barbara Stanwyk - a woman known for her consummate professionalism and elegant dress.

Made in Yorkshire, England.

Fabric: 60% polyester 37% viscose 3% elastane
Length from natural waist: approximately 68 cm

The late 1930s and early 1940s were synonymous with practical and conservative dressing due to austerity and wartime economics. There were many styles described as "background" dresses, meaning the dress was a great base that could be transformed using accessories, jewelry or trim. “Perfect when worn without frills but takes accessories with the greatest ease”

The dress has a discreet high neckline with fitted shoulder panels above 5 sun ribs. The simple bodice then has two pleats in the waist with a simple paneled swing skirt. The sleeves are very special - three darts in the head with a tuck in the hem.

Let's finish with the tightening belt... It's a real beauty and you'll probably use it with other clothes. Based on belts found in many original dresses of this era, this is a fabric covered belt that ties at the front, making it fully adjustable and giving a lovely cinching effect .
Size guide

Fit Class - Semi-Fitted “skims the body so that it follows the shape and can have well-fitted areas (e.g., waist)”
